From the app

Open the Kwabo app, then follow this path:

  • Profile tab.
  • My account.
  • Security, which opens the “Personal data” screen.
  • Delete my account.

Then

The app then invites you to write to [email protected], naming the event concerned. Erasure is not instant: your request is handled by the team, who reply within the period given below.

Without the app

No longer have the app? Write to [email protected] from the email address you registered with, naming the event concerned and adding the words “Delete my account”.

The team may ask you to confirm your identity before acting, so that nobody else can have your account erased.

How long it takes

You get an answer within one month, in line with the GDPR and Benin law no. 2017-20.

What is erased

Once your request has been carried out, your identity is anonymised:

  • your name, contact details, photo and answers to the registration form are erased;
  • your networking profile disappears from the directory, and your pending meeting requests are cancelled;
  • your passes are invalidated: a check-in device refuses them, even offline.

What is kept, and for how long

Some traces remain, with nothing that identifies you:

  • the pass, the access scans and the order, for the event’s accounting and statistics;
  • the platform’s audit trail, pseudonymised, thirteen months at most: it proves that the erasure took place;
  • database backups, which delete themselves: three days for continuous recovery, and about a week for the copies taken before each production release;
  • contact records already passed to an exhibitor: keeping them is then the exhibitor’s responsibility, and they must tell you their own retention periods.

Only leaving the participant directory

If you only want to stop appearing in the directory, you do not need to delete your account: withdrawing your consent to networking is done directly from your profile in the app, with immediate effect.
